Ultrasound

For many families, a highlight of prenatal care is a sneak peak at their baby during the “anatomy survey”, an ultrasound performed around 20 weeks gestation. This ultrasound is required for all families birthing at Natural Beginning because it can help identify rare but serious conditions, such as placenta previa or severe birth defects, which may prevent a safe vaginal delivery. The safety of you and your baby are our primary responsibility, and the use of ultrasound prenatally can provide us with reassurance that a birth center birth is a safe option for you.
