Siobhan Kubesh, CNM
Siobhan has been providing healthcare to women since 1993. She is passionate about empowering women and their families through education and enjoys assisting them in making health care decisions based on research, individual family risk factors and life philosophy. After first working as a labor and delivery nurse, she earned certification as a nurse-midwife in 2000 and has experience attending births both in and out of the hospital.
Siobhan was raised in Montana where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Montana State University. After working in California, then serving in the United States Air Force Nurse Corps, she attended The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston where she earned a Master’s of Science degree in Nursing.
Shortly after her husband’s career brought them to Austin in 1999, she gave birth to twins, Claire and Aidan. After time at home with her children, Siobhan returned to midwifery providing prenatal, gynecology and family planning services in a rural health clinic. She then spent five wonderful years co-owning a busy homebirth practice in Austin before joining OB/GYN North in 2010. She brings with her a deep understanding of the emotional aspects of childbearing, a trust in the natural process of birth and enjoys blending holistic care with technology.
Siobhan’s time away from midwifery is generally spent with her family, usually cheering at her high schoolers’ sporting events. She recharges with yoga, walking, reading and traveling. Her favorite vacation locations are back in the mountains of Montana or at a beach.
